Mobilizing Indigenous Knowledge in the Context of Play: Collaborative Research with Innu in Quebec and Mãori in New Zealand
Project Objectives
- Identify Indigenous adults’ (elders, parent, teachers) representations of play and their culture.
- Recount game scenarios initiated, elaborated, and completed by children.
- Pinpoint with the adults the utilization of Indigenous knowledge within game scenarios.
- Build avenues for reflection with kindergarten teachers to deepen traditional learning through play.
- Share practices to help teachers of both countries to feed reflection on play-based learning.
